NT Apprenticeship & Traineeship Database (13/05/10)
Over recent months the Northern Territory's Apprenticeship and Traineeship Database (DELTA) has been experiencing a range of technical difficulties that have resulted in a back log of Training Contracts to be registered.
The issue appears to relate to the link between Australian Apprenticeships NT and the Department's IT system and the Ingress Server the Database is located on.
The Department of Education and Training has their IT specialist trying to rectify the problem and a plan has been put in place to try and reduce the back log as quickly as possible once the extent of the problem is known.
DET appreciates the frustration that this delay causes to employers, apprentices and RTO's. However, they do stress that this problem is being worked through as quickly as possible, and apologise for any inconvenience being experienced.
If you wish to discuss this further, please contact Skye Blake from Australian Apprenticeships NT on (08) 8935 8200 or skye.blake@aacnt.com.au

Workforce Development for the Water Industry
This project will challenge the current workforce profile of the water industry, and promote the benefits of a workplace culture which is attractive to a more diverse workforce profile. The objective is to use the resources and structure of the Australian Apprenticeship model to address the growing evidence of serious skill shortages. This will provide a strategy in response to pressure from COAG, and government agencies to change water resource management and ensure the future capacity and security of water in Australia.
MITAC is representing the Northern Territory in relation to this project. More information will be posted on-line as it comes to hand. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Archie Wright on 8981 0077 or archie@mitac.org.au
